Dr. Anapurna Kamath

Dr. Annapoorna Kamath is founder trustee of Jalaposhan, a citizen led initiative for the rejuvenation and management of Jakkur Lake in Bengaluru, run in partnership with the BBMP since 2015. Under her leadership, Jalaposhan has combined community stewardship with ecological restoration, drawing on the knowledge of the local fishing community and engaging citizens through initiatives such as the Jakkur Kere Utsav, Shramadhan, and Jalsevika. Her work is widely cited as a model for inclusive, community driven lake conservation in the city.
